Application of Independent Component Analysis to North Atlantic sea level pressure oscillations (Summer 2002)

Objective: To demonstrate the usefulness of ICA as a tool for separation of pressure variations. Result: Independent signals were successfully separated and compared to known data. A paper on the work done has been written and is being revised for publication. Supervisor: Dr M.S Santhanam, IBM India Research Labs

Modeling and simulation of various 5 bar mechanisms on ADAMS and tracking of the torques and forces developed during the motion. (Summer 2002)

Objective: To investigate the feasibility of using 5-bar mechanisms to duplicate cam profiles. Result: The work done suggested that programmable 5 bars could be used to replicate certain profiles.

3. Development of a finite element mesh of the knee joint using MRI images. (Jan- May 03) Result: Successfully generated an FE mesh of the major bones in the knee joint from MR images. Supervisors: Dr Sudipto Mukherjee and Dr Anoop Chawla, Mechanical Eng. Dept. IIT Delhi

Achievements: Under the guidance of the QA-1 and PI-4 departments of Maruti Udyog 1. Identified root cause of leakage. 2. Recommended countermeasures and improvements in assembly line (implemented during training) and created a check sheet to avoid a repetition of the leak problem.

I enjoy reading, debating, writing and tennis though not necessarily in that order. I have been a part of my hostel tennis and quizzing teams and participated in a number of inter and intra college quizzes and debates, in the process losing many quizzes and winning many debates. Some of the debates I most enjoyed getting a position in: Won first place at the Premchand Memorial Invitational Debate, Hindu College 2003 Won Clash of the Titans, All India Debate held at IIT Delhi in 2001 and 2002.
