Dear Mr. Ray Carmichael, There is an overwhelming need for emergency relief in Japan, which endured three major disasters. Action Against Hunger (ACF) replaces rooted problems with solutions for growth. As a full-scale global organization, ACF not only aids with emergency supplies, rebuilds water and sanitary infrastructures, and fosters sustainable living, ACF staff also stays on-site to guide and support the community as it develops. We are pleased to present you with this proposal for the project, Hitachi Operation Prosperity Enclosure (HOPE). This test pilot for a scalable emergency relief site will resolve a multitude of issues by addressing eco-conscious, clean technologies, conservational recycling of water resources and waste management. Project HOPE is a concept for any climate, and presents long-term solutions for water, sanitation, preservation of ecosystems, employment programs, and small circular economies. We have secured land from the Japanese government, $39,000 for administrative costs from Fondation Ensemble, an in-kind donation of soil and plants from a local Japanese nursery, Jade Bamboo; we also collected $689,000 towards supplies, equipment, training, and maintenance costs for the next year. Our total contribution is $728,000 towards relief funds. We are still in need of $100,000 to purchase new water technologies, solar heating and powering systems for showers and drinking water.
