Intro: Awesome Duct Tape Wallet

Note- This is my first actual instructable so don't be too harsh Also after i make it neat and add decoration i will add the new pictures This is a wallet I made for myself based off of one i previously made. It has 1 main pocket, 1 pocket for an ID card and 6 pockets for normal cards and 1 secret pocket for anything that wouldn't fit in the card pocket. also all measurements do not have to be perfect. If you like it rate it and comment. if you make it post pictures.

Image Notes 1. ignore this completely i cut if off at the end because what i originally wanted to do didnt work 2. also ignore this little opening 3. ball of extra duct tape from all my duct tape projects

Image Notes 1. i did this quick so it wasn't neat but i went over it later with another piece to make it look smooth 2. pocket 1 3. pocket 2 4. pocket 3 5. pocket 4 6. pocket 5 7. pocket 6 8. secret pocket under here 9. ID pocket 10. main pocket

Image Notes 1. all these messy parts can have duct tape added to make it look neater, i was going quickly 2. License or other id can go here

http://www.instructables.com/id/Awesome-Duct-Tape-Wallet-1/

Step 1: Gather Materials

Duct Tape (any color you want) Scissors Exacto Knife Ziploc Bag Tin Foil or Paper Ruler Surface to Cut on Marker or Pen

Step 2: Making The Outside of The Wallet

First cut out a piece of tin foil or paper 8 6/8 inches by 3 5/8 inches Then Cover Both Sides With Duct Tape and put this piece to the side

Image Notes 1. 8 6/8 Inches 2. 3 5/8 Inches

Image Notes 1. Finished Piece

Step 3: Making The Inner Piece

This is the inner piece that will combine with the outside piece to form the main pocket. This step is the same as the first step except the measurements are different. First Cut Foil or Paper in a rectangle with the dimensions 8 5/8 inches by 3 1/2 inches

Image Notes 1. 8 5/8 inches 2. 3 1/2 inches

Image Notes 1. Finished Piece

http://www.instructables.com/id/Awesome-Duct-Tape-Wallet-1/

Step 4: Making The Card Pockets

This step will show how to make the pieces that will form the card pockets. First cut two - 4inches by 3 1/2 inches pieces of foil or paper then cover with duct tape. Then cut six - 1 7/8inches by 3 6/8 inches of foil or paper then cover in tape.

Image Notes 1. 4 inches 2. 3 1/2 inches 3. 2 of these in total 4. 3 6/8 inches 5. 1 7/8 inches 6. 6 of these

Step 5: Making the ID Pocket , Part 1

First cut out a piece of foil or paper 6 3/8 inches by 3 1/2 inches. Lay this so the long way is horizontal. Then fold it 3 6/8 inches from the right side to form a right angle after this apply duct tape only to the smaller side

Image Notes 1. 6 3/8 inches 2. 3 1/2 inches 3. 3 6/8 inches from the right and fold

Image Notes 1. you only need to duct tape the smaller side

http://www.instructables.com/id/Awesome-Duct-Tape-Wallet-1/

Step 6: Making the ID Pocket , Part 2

For this step you are going to need the Ziploc bag. First Place your ID Card into the bottom right corner of the Ziploc bag (picture 2) Second trace around the left and top edges of your card but leave a good amount(picture 3) Third Cut just inside of the line you drew(picture 4) Fourth Trim the bag so it fits on the piece you made in the previous step(picture 5 and 6) Fifth trace a small semi-circle and cut it out so you can remove your card with ease(picture 7) Sixth now tape this onto the piece that you made in step 5(look at picture 6 again)

Image Notes 1. Ziploc Bag

Image Notes 1. Card in Bottom right of bag

Image Notes 1. trace more than you think you will need

Image Notes 1. cut just inside the lines you made

http://www.instructables.com/id/Awesome-Duct-Tape-Wallet-1/

Image Notes 1. trim to fit smaller side of the piece you just made

Image Notes 1. This is where the pocket will be taped so it has to be trimmed to fit n this piece. Male sure you tape the pocket on this side,

Image Notes 1. after you are done trimming cut out a small semi circle so you can remove your ID easily

Step 7: Making the ID Pocket , Part 3

Now you are going to need one of the 4 inch by 3 1/2 inch pieces and the piece you finished in the last step. First lay the piece with the clear pocket face down Then take the other piece and lay it on top of it(see picture 2) Tape the two pieces together(see picture 2 again)

Image Notes 1. 4 inch by 3 1/2 inch piece

Image Notes 1. this is the back side of where the ID Pocket is

http://www.instructables.com/id/Awesome-Duct-Tape-Wallet-1/

2. piece from previous step

2. This is the 4 inch by 3 1/2 inch piece laying on the larger section that didn't have tape on it before 3. Tape together here 4. tape together here 5. tape together here 6. try not to put too much tape where you bent the foil because the more tape will make it harder to bend

Image Notes 1. finished product

Image Notes 1. Finished product

Step 8: Putting it All together. Part 1:The Main Pocket

Get The Two Pieces from step 2 and 3 Lay them on top of each other with the bigger one on the bottom(see picture) Then Tape them together on the left side the bottom and the right side(see picture again)

Image Notes 1. smaller piece 2. larger piece underneath 3. tape here 4. tape here 5. tape here

Step 9: Putting it All together. Part 2:The Card Pockets

Now go get all those smaller pieces we made before and the ID Pocket First Lay the 4 inch by 3 1/2 inch piece on the left side and the ID pocket on the right side(picture 1& 2) Second tape these pieces down(picture 1 again) Third take the little pocket pieces and get a piece of tape bigger than it. then take the pocket piece and place it in the middle of the tape. then tape it over the 4 inch by 3 1/2 inch piece and the ID Piece (see pictures 3,4,5 and 6) Now you're done

http://www.instructables.com/id/Awesome-Duct-Tape-Wallet-1/

Image Notes 1. 4 inch by 3 1/2 inch piece 2. ID Piece 3. tape here 4. tape here 5. tape here 6. tape here but tuck the tape into the pocket so you don't tape the pocket closed 7. tape here but tuck the tape into the pocket so you don't tape the pocket closed 8. tape here also 9. tape 10. don't tape here or else no secret pocket

Image Notes 1. 4 inch by 3 1/2 inch piece 2. ID Piece

Image Notes 1. start adding pockets. start from the top then go down about 5/8 of an inch and repeat for a total of three pockets on each side Image Notes 1. pocket piece 2. center it on another piece of tape

Image Notes 1. 3 pockets 2. 3 pockets Image Notes 1. the flap is unfolded here ID card is facing other way 2. pockets go here for a total of three on each side

http://www.instructables.com/id/Awesome-Duct-Tape-Wallet-1/

Step 10: Make It Neat And Decorate

Now you are done. If it is messy go over the messy places with tape to give it a neater look. Then you can go ahead and decorate it with multiple colors of duct tape or stickers or anything else you can think of.

Image Notes 1. i did this quick so it wasn't neat but i went over it later with another piece to make it look smooth 2. pocket 1 3. pocket 2 4. pocket 3 5. pocket 4 6. pocket 5 7. pocket 6 8. secret pocket under here 9. ID pocket 10. main pocket

Image Notes 1. all these messy parts can have duct tape added to make it look neater, i was going quickly 2. License or other id can go here

http://www.instructables.com/id/Awesome-Duct-Tape-Wallet-1/

Image Notes 1. I still need to make it neat and add something to decorate it. i just wanted to get this done so i could upload it.

Image Notes 1. ignore this completely i cut if off at the end because what i originally wanted to do didnt work 2. also ignore this little opening 3. ball of extra duct tape from all my duct tape projects

I would think it should only take about an hour. Any help would be great. Thanks!
