Sand caStleS

Making sand castles on the sea-shore With my little niece on a bright magnolia morn, I gazed at those clouds freckling the azure And that fresh-faced mandarin sun, Its citrus grin lingering in nostrils of The brine-kissed sea breeze-Echoing with chanted epistles of sea-gulls, A song begged to be hummed Clogging my throat, seeking carefree voice, As feet covered in sand Sought to pepper the winds face with sprinkles, My hair was having mood swings-Eager to imitate the rolling sea-waves, And play with the flowing breeze. We carefully made the prettiest castle, Its turrets proud and a winding trail at its feet, The waves came gushing and washed oer them Chortling at the ruined, wet remains, Their mischief mollified by sea-shells left Scattered at rainbow fragments on the shore, We gathered them and made A castle behind a rock- one decorated in shells, Just to tease those rogue waves, They splashed and danced but failed To reach the shielded castle, And we learnt another lesson On lifes abacus--- spin dreams but also find The most fertile place for them to grow
