UALR is a metropolitan university that offers students unique learning and internship opportunities.

1927 1929

John Larson urged that the Little Rock Junior College be founded. The college was accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. UALR has kept this accreditation through changes in size and status. The college moved to its current lo location in southwest Little Rock. The college began offering fouryear degree programs, became independents and privately supported under a separate board of trustees, and took the name the University of Little Rock. UALR became part of the University of Arkansas system. The university began offering graduate and professional work. The UALR Graduate School was created.
