-SPrinG SonGAll flowers are waking

All the flowers are waking, Spring has come again . We can see the sunshine , We can see the rain. All birds are singing, Spring has come again. We can see the sunshine, We can see the rain. Toate florile se trezesc, Primavara iar a sosit. Putem vedea soarele stralucind, Si ploaia din nou. Toate pasarile canta, Primavara iar a sosit, Putem vedea soarele stralucind, Si ploaia din nou.

Summer holidays are wonderful. There are many long sunny days. There is no school. There are new friends and many interesting things to see and to do. Some children spent their holidays at the seaside, some in the mountains and some in the country. As for me, I spent this summer at the sea in Paralia Katerini and in the country. Toate florile se trezesc, Primavara iar a sosit. Putem vedea soarele stralucind, Si ploaia din nou. Toate pasarile canta, Primavara iar a sosit, Putem vedea soarele stralucind, Si ploaia din nou.

The beach is a traditional summer destination for thousands of people. The wealth of thing to do includes sunbathing. The sea is one of the most wonderful places which attract holidays-makers all over the world. There are many rest homes and tourist camps there. But it is also possible to rent a room or a furnished house for a couple of weeks there. As a rule, I make new friends there. In the day-time we play volleyball, tennis, swim in the warm water of the sea and sunbathe. Ever presented breezes keep the temperature comfortable and the water warm. Beach cities are the centres for easy going life styles. The newest trends in youth culture often originate there. For example, the roller-skating craze started on the Venice boardwalk. Though sea, sun and sand are the same, people try to go to different places every year, because fauna and flora and the air are different. Spending holidays on the beach is a great rest though many people combine sunbathing with visiting museums and places of interest. Sometimes in summer my parents and I go on a long journey in Europe. We visit ancient Hungarian and Austrian towns or go on a boat-trip on the Danube. I like boat-trips very much. The boat drops on anchor at every important town. We go out on the shore and an excursion for an hour or two. We visit the places of interest and have a chance to learn more about the history of this or that town or place. But mostly we spend the summer holidays in the country. In my opinion there is nothing like the countryside. We have cousins who live in the countryside. Their home is in a nice place near the Retezat Mountains. There is river and a lake there. My friends and I often go swimming and boating there. I played with Cristi and Alex, who lives down the road. Every day we fed the horses and went riding. Every afternoon we went swimming in the river. I was also fond or lying in the sun. Theres a lot of fish in the lake, so I sometimes went fishing. I like to sit in silence for a while, waiting for a fish to get caught and listening to the bird singing in the trees. When I happened to catch a fish I set it free at once, because I went in for fishing just for pleasure. When it was very hot my friends and I usually went to the forest. The air is cool and fresh there. I like to walk in the shade of the trees and pick mushrooms and berries. Cristi has got a dog called Axy. It becomes so happy when Alex and I take to the forest. Axy likes to run after butterflies. I sometimes played with it. I threw a stick and at brought it back to me. Time passed quickly and soon we hade to make our way back. We returned home sunburnt and full of impressions.

To the zooo

A zoo is a place where various birds, animals and reptiles are kept. A zoo does not contain ordinary birds and animals which we usually see in our villages and towns. It contains those birds and animals which we cannot generally see. Most of them live in forests. Some of them are brought from other countries also, as they are not found in our country. A visit to a zoo is a pleasure. It is informative and educative too. Zoos are there in almost all the big cities. We have zoos in Delhi, Calcutta, Bombay, Madras, Mysore and also in Hyderabad. The zoo at Hyderabad is named as Nehru Zoological Park. Many people, young an old, boys and girls, from villages and cities visit this zoo. It is located on the outskirts of Hyderabad in an extensive area under the Mir Alam tank. Entrance to the zoo is by tickets. It is open from 10 a.m. onwards. There are separate enclosures for birds, animals and reptiles. Tigers and lions have separate well protected enclosures. After entering the zoo which has a beautiful garden in its front, one comes across the enclosures meant for birds. One can see there different kinds of parrots, pigeons, peacocks and other birds of different colors and from different countries. One can also see the ostrich, a bird which cannot fly. It is an African bird. In the next enclosure deer of all kinds, including black bucks, a rare Indian variety, are kept. Then one goes to the enclosure of elephants and camels. Elephants are very huge animals. Camels are the ugliest. Children can have joy rides on elephants and camels. Then one moves on to the artificial lake where crocodiles are kept. Next is the enclosure kept for zebras and bears. Giraffe is an attraction for children. Next comes the tiger enclosure. There are Indian tigers, brown in color, with black stripes. There are also two white tigers which are a rare variety. There are a few leopards and cheetahs also. The Nehru Zoological Park has a separate enclosure for lions where they can be seen roaming freely. One can go in a closed safari park van and have a close look at them. There are canteens to take lunch and benches to take rest under the green woods. On the other side one can see different kinds of monkeys, chimpanzees and guerrillas which are man's ancestors. Then comes the reptile section where different kinds of snakes are kept. There is a separate enclosure for animals and reptiles which move during nights. The enclosure is dark and has dim light. One can see the nocturnal creatures moving about in darkness. There is a train to take one on ride all around the zoo. When one leaves the zoo in the evening, he leaves it with pleasant memories of birds, animals and reptiles which are also creations of God and which have a right to live with us in this wonderful world. Man owes a duty to protect all the creatures of God as he protects himself. A visit to a zoo - isn't it informative and educative !

Birthday party

Birthdays come only once in a year and last year I celebrated my birthday the way I wanted to. My parents were gracious - enough to ask me for anything on that day and I asked them to arrange a grand party for my friends. My mother is my best friend when it comes to inviting friends home. She helped me to make invitation cards and to fill them up with names. She made a list of all the friends I wanted to call and then made a card to send to each of my friends. The contents of each card were different so as to suit the taste of the particular friend to whom it was sent. Thereafter she took me to the market and bought balloons and streamers, masks and caps, etc to decorate the house with. We ordered the cake and bought wrapping paper along with the return presents. As we reached home we sat down to work. We put up the streamers with tape and hung the balloons all over the walls and on the fans and doors and windows. We arranged the marks and caps in such a way that each friend of mine would pick one of his choices. Mother was very busy. She spent the whole day in the kitchen cooking for all my friends. The cake arrived in the evening and soon my friends started pouring in. My father arranged some games for them and he became the referee for all our games. He arranged musical chairs, passing the parcel, follow the leader, dumb charades, etc. and all the children enjoyed themselves. We had our tea after the cake was cut by me. The cake was in the shape of a beautiful house with colourful fencing and big chunks of chocolate. I was drowned in gifts once my friends left and I went to bed with the satisfaction of having enjoyed the best birthday party of my life.
