Attention: __________ __________

Dear Senator/Representative __________,

I am writing on behalf of thousands of MoveOn members in our state/district to request a

meeting with you over the Presidents’ Day Recess (the week of February 16th).

In December, MoveOn members across the country voted on our top priorities for 2009:
universal health care, economic recovery, clean energy, and ending the Iraq war. Now that
President Obama and the new Congress have taken office, we are hopeful that real
progress can be made in each of these areas.

We are particularly eager to discuss how we can work together to transition the United
States to a “green economy,” thereby creating millions of new jobs, addressing the
challenge of global climate change, and freeing our nation from its dangerous
dependence on Middle Eastern oil.

I would like to set up a meeting at your local office in ___________, or at a nearby

location that can accommodate a group of 10-15 MoveOn members from the area. I will
follow up with you staff over the phone to ensure the receipt of this request and discuss
any relevant details.

We look forward to working together in the days to come.

Yours sincerely,
