to your queries as follows: Regarding your initial remarks on being an international student at Roskilde University, rector is pleased to note that you have point out rewarding aspects of your studies at RU although you also identify a range of difficulties. Rector and ProRector Hanne Leth Andersen recently participated in the International week initiated and organized by the International club. They made use of this opportunity to meet and discuss the experiences and challenges of international students at Roskilde University. International students have also contributed to the development of the new International Education Strategy 2012-15. Quality in our English-language programs is a focus area in the strategy. All international students now have to document (e.g. by a language test), that they meet the minimum requirement in English before admission. This autumn we have also initiated a process of certification of all lecturers teaching in English. Regarding Fredagsbaren; the role of Studenterrdet is based on a long-standing tradition at RUC to involve the students. The involvement has often been organised through student organizations . To ensure that the collaborating organizations havebeen sufficiently representative of RU students, representation on the Academic Council has been a requirement. For some years, tasks have in practice beenaccrued by Studenterrdet by virtue of representation in the Academic Council andexpressed interest. Other AR-represented organizations are, however, equally eligible. In connection with a change of responsibility for Fredagsbaren, RU will be required to terminate existing agreements with due warning. At present RUC has an agreement with Studenterrdet about Fredagsbaren. However the rectorate has agreed that Fredagsbaren in the long term should be run by the association established with the purpose of operating the new student house Studenterhuset from 2013. Until the new association for the operation of Studenterhuset is in place, the rectorate wishes to maintain the current agreement with Studenterrdeton Fredagsbaren.
