Julian Hernandez Period 1 Anger (Part III) Anger is an emotion that everyone experiences.

Anger usually leads to retaliation and is caused by something that is offensive or threatening. Anger is a normal emotion and can be described as an uncomfortable emotion but it is healthy. Anger can be triggered in many ways but what steps does it take for the brain to trigger it? Your brain first collects all the data that has triggered the emotion. It then passes this data through the amygdala from the sensory organs. It goes through neural pathways and is finally found in the forebrain. Some scholars even say that anger can be genetic, but there is minimal research on that so it cant be classified as a fact yet. When your brain wants to calm down, it releases happy chemicals. These chemicals are serotonin, noradrenalin, and dopamine. Serotonin is the most important one. Its a natural occurring chemical in the brain that will calm a person down. Rage or uncontrollable rage can be caused internally or externally. Some of the internal triggers are emotional reasoning and people-rating. Some external triggers are offensive quotes toward someone or physical harm done by someone. There are several ways to calm down or prevent anger. To prevent anger, you can count down to 10 while taking deep breaths; its like a timeout. Sometimes, instead of expressing your anger in a threatening manner, you can express it in a controlled and assertive manner. Identifying possible solutions to a problem can also be extremely helpful. To prevent from having uncontrollable rages or to control anger problems, there are anger management classes. Anger management classes are lessons taught to people with anger

problems to have them control their anger and they also teach them how to prevent anger. There are many other lessons taught but those are the most important.
