When releasing the compressed gas stored under high pressure through a small hole, the flow rate

of the hole-area can be undergone two types of flow conditions: chocked or non-chocked flow. The phenomena of chocked flow refers to the condition, Mach number
at the exit section becomes equal to one and the mass flow rate handled by the nozzle reaches a maximum value. At this point the pressure ratio of inside and out side pressure becomes critical value. The critical pressure ratio can be calculated by using the isentropic expansion factor ( equal to ratio if specific heats , Cp / Cv of the gas) as
