Dear Parents, Students in eighth grade will take the Grade 8 Writing Assessment on January 23, 2013. The Grade 8 Writing Assessment will provide information on student writing skills and is part of the required assessment program for the state of Georgia. It is important for your child to be at school on time the day of testing. Testing begins in our school at 9:20 AM and will last approximately two hours. Students will not be allowed to enter the testing room once testing has begun, nor will they be allowed to check out until all students have completed the test. Students usually perform best when they take the test in a familiar environment. If students are absent or tardy, make-up sessions will be administered by the counselor and/or other certified personnel who may not be your childs teacher. Please stress to your child the importance of the test and doing his/her best. However, be careful not to create undue anxiety. Students perform best when they are relaxed.
