A man complained that he and his wife were “treated like naughty children” when told to dispose of onions and any other items that were not allowed entry, and were lectured about researching beforehand what they’re allowed to transport across the border into Canada.
The complainant was also told he would be subject to a $400 fine for each banned item subsequently found, and that the officer went on to “rave about how much produce is put in landfills everyday and the need to hire people to dispose of it.”
