The Meewasin Valley Authority and the City of Saskatoon teamed up to revitalize their newly titled south downtown River Landing. AldrichPears Associates created an interpretive plan for the site. The two main goals of the interpretive plan were to provide a sense of place and to make connections to the city and the region, providing enough interpretive meaning and depth to make the site a key destination, rich in cultural, industrial and natural history.

The Meewasin Valley Authority and the City of Saskatoon teamed up to revitalize the River Landing area. AldrichPears worked with both parties to develop a dynamic interpretive plan. The goal was to build on the sites natural, cultural and industrial history to create a sense of place and strengthen its connection to the city and region. APA developed an interpretive plan that provides design guidelines for adding layers of meaning to the site over the long term. APA also provided a conceptual framework for content. The framework describes the look and feel of outdoor signage and clarifies the vision for indoor spaces. The plan is a reference for planners and designers who want to add meaning to their development, both commercial and cultural. APAs interpretive plan for River Landing is a long term plan. It is being developed in phases to attract private and public owners.
