Evaluation question 2 ideas Ancillary texts reflect themes/narrative of the video Throughout our main product and our

ancillary texts we used the theme of loneliness and heartbreak we have done this by the model on the digipak and also the magazine advertisement is alone and has a solemn facial expression. Similarly In our music video the actor is frequently shot alone, again emphasizing the theme of loneliness. In both of these products we used a picture of the female antagonist with the male individual destroying these pictures in different methods, we did this so that we could create a subtle link between the two products which the audience easily recognize and we also wanted to highlight the individuals feelings that he has finally rid himself of this heartbreak and is going to these lengths to wipe her from memory. Brand identity For our brand identity we have used the same individual in both the video and our ancillary texts, we decided to do this as it would be something that the Script would do to help build a brand identity and we wanted emulate this. For this project we created our own record label, P&D records which we displayed on both our Digipak and also our magazine advertisement, allowing the audience to easily recognize our label and the artists and their products, which are associated with us. Ancillary deconstruction Andrew Goodwin In our magazine advert we used a recurring font throughout and it was briefly used on our digipak this is an intertextual reference towards the digipaks and advertisements used to promote the Script as it is a similar font to what they use. We used many close up shots of the artist and the model throughout all our work this links to the whole theme of our work of loneliness. Stuart Hall We used the theme of loneliness and also heartbreak so that it will be meaningful and representative of many peoples lives and they can relate to the situation that is being portrayed within the Digipak and also the advertisement and our model is seen alone.
