All throughout my academic career, I have always felt a never-ending drive to

challenge myself. This drive has shaped in me a strong pillar of responsibility. Responsibility, in any situation, insinuates doing your best at the task you are given with the utilities and skills you have. With that in mind, my success in school is not a result of a natural academic ability or pressing from my parents, but rather my own independent motivation for triumph. ! This motivation has carried my responsible tendencies through high school. Throughout my high school education, I have maintained a spot on the honor roll along with a 3.6 GPA rather sustainably. The main factor behind this accomplishment is that I put my academics rst while in school and strive to do the best I can. For the past two years, I have taken on four online college-level classes. It is left up to the student to learn the material and get assignments handed in on time. Doing this has taught me the essence of responsibility. At rst, this was a bit of a shock to me. I hadnt yet learned how to practically teach myself, and I fell behind. However, my drive to challenge myself pulled through. Using my sense of responsibility, I organized my lessons into smaller, more manageable chunks. Rather that putting my homework off, I stayed on top of my grades and also manage a part-time job on top of that to earn money for the times I do have leisure. ! As a college student, I plan on putting my grades rst. Rather than spending the majority of my time carousing, I will put any scholarship money I earn to good use by challenging myself to get the best grades I can. A college education is a coveted commodity in todays society, I will do my best to responsibly earn it as to become a productive member of society. At college, I will utilize the skills Ive earned at Northwood-Kensett from the opportunities Ive already been given with paid for online classes and lessons in building character. ! Under the strong pillar of responsibility, the gift of a scholarship would be the perfect tool for me to utilize in challenging myself for a better education. With a better education, I become a more productive member of society, and in turn, be more satised with the bar Ive set for myself.
