Spirit Lake Soup (Spirit Lake Bakery specialty) Jack & Jean Hardies favorite soup.

. 1 pound ground beef 1 pkg slaw mix (cabbage mix) 1 medium onion (chopped) 1 14 oz can beans (kidney/pinto/garbanzo) 1 - 28 oz can crushed tomatoes 2 14 oz can Rotel (original) 1-2 cups water 1 beef boullion cube 1 tsp salt tsp pepper tsp garlic powder Brown ground beef in soup pot/dutch oven. Add next 10 ingredients. Cover and cook on medium heat until bubbly (30 minutes or so). Reduce heat, cover and simmer for another 30 minutes or so. If you prefer a less spicy version, replace Rotel with 28 oz of crushed tomatoes. If any is leftover for another day, you may want to add some additional water.
