ECE was established in 1954 as a first producer of wires and cables
in Egypt and Middle East.
ECE had established and applies a quality control system according to
ISO 9002 1994 for manufacturing and testing of cables.
ECE factories comprising modern up to date production lines and all testing
equipment to meet the needs of the local market as well as international markets.
ECE ensure high quality production techniques according to international standards
as 1EC, AEIC, VDE, BS-ASTM etc..
ECE has an important share in the national economy of Egypt and its production
was increased and modified for all type of wires and cables to meet the requirement

Description:
Single core cables with copper conductors, (Solid, stranded or flexible) and insulated with PVC. The
cables are manufactured according to IEC 60 227, BS 6004, BS 6500 specifications.
Construction:
1. Conductor:
Plain annealed circular conforming to IEC60228class I,2and5.
2. Insulation:
PVC rated 70C or 85C for continuous operation.
Applications
Building wires and general applications include equipment wiring, switching and distribution installation in conduits or under plaster.

Description:
Circular single core cables, with copper or Aluminum conductors, insulated with PVC or
XLPE according to IEC 60502.
Construction:
1. Conductor :
Soft annealed stranded copper or Aluminum according to IEC 60 228 class 1,2,5
for copper and class 2 for Aluminum..
2. Insulation:
Extruded PVC 70C or 85C or XLPE 90 C. .
3. Sheath:
Extruded PVC rated 70C or PVC 90C forcontinuos operation.
Applications
Outdoor and indoor installation. General purpose for power distribution also for
welding cables with copper flexible finely stranded.
Note:
The cables can be armoured with double Aluminum tapes or Aluminum wires on
request.

Single core cables with Aluminum conductors, (stranded) and insulated with PVC or XLPE.
The cables are manufactured according to IEC 60 22 7 specifications.
Construction:
1. Conductor:
Plain circular stranded, conforming to IEC 60228 class 2 or IEC 207.
2. Insulation:
PVC rated 70C or 85C for continuous operation, also PVC may contain 2.5% carbon black to
be sun resistance, also XLPE insulated rated 90C on request.
Applications
Typical applications include equipment wiring, switching and distribution installation in
conduits or under plaster, also are used for overhead lines.

Construction:
1. Conductor: Plain sectoral compacted copper or aluminum according to IEC 60 228 class
2.
2. Insulation: Extruded XLPE rated 9OJC [or continues operation.
3. Assembly: The insulated conductors are laid-up and wrapped around with polyethylene or
polyester tapes.
4. Inner sheath: Extruded PVC as bedding.
5. Armour : Double steel tapes applied helically over the bedding.
6. Outer sheath: Extruded PVC 90C flame retardant black in colour and may contain 2.5%
carbon black to be sun resistance.
7. Cables are designed and tested according to IEC spec IEC 60 228, 60 502-1.
Applications
For installation on trays, ducts or direct burial and cables are used for general purposes.

Multi cores cables with circular shape compacted copper or aluminum conductors - XLPE insulated, PVC bedding, double steel tapes and PVC sheathed according to IEC 60 502-1,
Construction:
1. Conductor:
Plain circular compacted copper or aluminum according to IEC 60 228 class 2.
2. Insulation:
Extruded XLPE rated 90C for continues operation.
3. Assembly:
The insulated conductors are laid-up and wrapped around with polyethylene tapes,. Also suitable
filler extruded compound or separated unites (polypropylene yarns) are applied to be circular.
4. Inner sheath:
Extruded PVC as bedding.
5. Armour:
Double steel tapes applied helically over the bedding.
6. Outer sheath:
Extruded PVC 90C flame retardant black in colour and may contain 2.5% carbon black to be sun resistance.
7. Cables are designed and tested according to IEC spec IEC 60 228, 60 502-1.
Applications:
For installation on trays, ducts or direct burial and cables are used for general purposes.

Description:
Circular multi cores cables copper conductors, five up to fifty eight cores insulated and
sheathed with PVC according to VDE 02 71, IEC 60 502 and BS 6346.
Construction
1. Conductor:
Soft annealed copper, stranded or solid conductors.
2. Insulation:
PVC rated 70uC or 85C for continuous operation.
3. Sheath:
PVC rated 7GJC or 90C.
Identification:
1. Colour for cores according to our standard colours and other colours are available on request.
2. White numbers on black PVC insulation or black numbers on white PVC insulation.
Applications:
Control cables are used as a traffic signals for indoor, in ducts and in the open. Also for power
stations, industrial plants and switching stations.
