    THE PORROS FESTIVAL

    This traditional dance belongs to the Sinu culture, mainly of the Caribbean region. It is a very cheerful and suitable for dancing in pairs. This festival celebrates annually in late June, in the municipality of San Pelayo in Cordoba. During the festival, there are various cultural events, which are exchanged with neighboring people. The festival begins with a dawn, which attracts thousands of attendees in the morning of the first day. In this dawn they offer a concert with the most famous porros songs in the region. The Porros Festival has become a social expression, through which converge creative expressions, playful, artistic and folkloric; the autochthonous and the traditional culture of the country.
