Mermaid Maternity Retreat Job Description

General Manager Full Time Salary guide 40k to 50k We are looking to recruit a General Manager to run the UKs first dedicated maternity retreat, opening in July 2013 on the Kings Road, Chelsea, London. The Mermaid Maternity Retreat will have fourteen bedrooms, a 24/7 fully staffed baby zone, a dining room, a therapy area with three treatment rooms and a studio for ante and post-natal classes. Mermaid is being set up to provide support for pregnant women and new mothers including specialised accommodation for the first few days after birth. Mermaid will shortly be expanding to new sites in London and across the UK, offering excellent opportunities for career advancement. As GM you will be required to run the day-to-day operations of the retreat, liaising with customers, coordinating all departments, supervising staff, and making sure the facility runs smoothly and efficiently. You will have overall budget responsibility and will report directly to the Head Office. Besides the hospitality departments, namely housekeeping, F&B, spa, reception and sales, the GM will also hold operational responsibility for the maternity residential services and the team running these on a 24hour basis. Candidates should have at least three years management experience either within hotel services or within the Health Sector at Operations Manager or Deputy General Manager level in a 4* hotel, or Service Manager level in Health. Your CV must demonstrate strong personnel management experience and knowledge of working with and increasing revenue in a variety of ways depending on area of experience eg spa and events or amenity/private services in health. Experience working within the maternity sector (NHS or private) would also be advantageous.
