Atinuch Terat. (2008). A Comparison of the Third Level Students Learning Achievement
and Retention on English Structure, Foreign Language Substance between
Learning through Computer Multimedia Instruction and Conventional
Teaching. Master thesis, M.Ed.(Educational Technology). Bangkok: Graduate
School, Srinakharinwirot University. Advisor Committee: Assoc.Prof.Dr. Aurapan
Pornsima, Assoc.Prof.Nipa Sripairot.
The purposes of this research were to 1) develop quality computer multimedia
instruction on English Structure and 2) compare students learning achievement and
retention on English Structure learning through the computer multimedia instruction and
conventional teaching.
The 99 students of grade 8 from Tepleela School were samples for the study by
using Cluster Random Sampling technique. The research instruments were the computer
multimedia instruction and learning achievement tests. The data were analyzed by means
and standard deviations. Also, t-test for dependent and independent samples and t-test
different score used for hypothesis testing.
The results of this research were as follows:
1. The computer multimedia instruction on English Structure for the Third level
students learning was ranked at a good quality by content experts and at an excellent level
by media experts.
2. The Learning achievement on English Structure of the experimental group was
higher than control group with the significant differences at the .05 level.
3. The inner group retention on English Structure of the experimental and the
control group was not significant difference at the .05 level.
4. The between-group retention on English Structure of the experimental and the
control group was not different. For the Reading Skill of the experimental group was higher
than that of the control group at .05 level of significant differences.
