Blackpony is a band from Len, Gto. (Mex) formed by Cndido Vera, Mario Palacios, Eber Bravo, and the brothers Jorge and Pablo Vargas who, influenced by the 70 post-punk wave and the chillwave of the last decade, joined to evolve and generate sounds that go from the electronic to the punk. In 2010 they joined to continue with a project that was about to collapse: Arty, originally an instrumental project. There were mixed opinions between the fans because their EP, Eterno retorno , had a different style due to Cndidos voice and the separated style of Ebers guitar arpegios. Therefore, in February of 2011 they decided to separate and focuse in each ones last projects. Arty (Mario, Jorge and Pablo) returned to an instrumental style, whereas the Eber and Cndido continued with an ancient project, called TBTF. In the starting moths of 2012, Eber, Mario and Cndido started a new electronic project called Prototapes. Jorge joined the project, eventually. At the time, there was a contest in the most popular bar of the city, so they called Pablo to continue with the lost steps of the old Blackpony concept. Taking songs of their Eterno retorno EP, they won the contest. This motivated them to write new tracks that led them to new fans and a greater popularity in their city. Blackpony has had the oportunity of playing in all the important venues of its city and theyve performed as the opening act of famous artists such as Javiera Mena, from Chile. At this time they are producing the videoclip for their Vintage Dress single. Also they are finishing to produce their first EP under the name of Blackpony.
