Presentation of a research question, on the students chosen topic of inquiry that can be addressed using the statistical analysis. No data will be analyzed for this part. This part should contain 1. a short literature background about the research problem, including the rationale or significance (APA citation format should be observed) 2. a description of the proposed measures (or instruments) of the variables being studied (cite the author(s) of these measures. Both independent and dependent variables should be interval or continuous. 3. well-articulated research problem and hypothesis about relationship/s among variables under study: Identify the independent variables and dependent variable At least one research question for correlation and at least one research question for regression Alternative hypotheses for testing the relationship of the independent variables on the dependent variables. Specify if IV(s) is/are positively or negatively correlated with the DV. Alternative hypotheses for testing the effect of the independent variables (predictor) on the dependent variable (outcome variable). Statistical analysis to be used (in this case, descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, and standard multiple regression) The role played by each variable in the analysis (e.g., independent variables, dependent variable) The statistics generated by the analysis (e.g., descriptives, correlation coefficient, p-value, Beta and B regression coefficients, effect size) How these statistics will be used to make conclusions about the research problem. 5.
