1.) Racial Discrimination Spaniards called Filipinos, Indios. The article shows vivid declaration, how Filipinos are ridiculed by the Spaniards because of their race. They make the Indios/Indolent work from 18 to 60 years old (a decree known as polo). Even Rizal have been accused of crimes. 2.) Official Corruption The article exposed and questioned the stench of corruption in Spaniards era. One of the reasons why Filipinos revolted against the Friars administration. 3.) Role of mothers Rizal saw the disadvantages of the situation of Filipinos during the Spanish time. It talks about the importance of a role of a mother. 4.) Women of Rizals time did not embody the value of bravery. This emphasizes the abundance of girls were too modest and kind. 5.) Blind Obedience (abuse of Spaniards towards hospitality of Filipino) Reason of submission of Filipinos to Spaniards. Spaniards brain-washed Filipinos by wondering all their acts and orders as a saintly concern of rel. decision. 6.) Confined Women (Inequality between men and women) Women are looked down by people and was merely used as chattels. They were keep in seclusion in home/school. 7.) Unreligious acts between of the Friars towards Filipino (Frialocracy) The Philippine during this time was in the tight, suffocating greed hands of Catholicism since friars ruled over the whole archipelago since they had tremendous power over politics. 8.) The Infancy Ideals Rizal longed and prepared for the vengeance of his oppressed people. 9.) Slavery (Polo y Servicious) Compulsory labor imposed by the Spanish colonial authorities on adult Filipino males. 10.) Uneducated Filipina The women of Malolos were pursuing education but they were hindered.
