Foucauldian Critique: Artistic, Political, and Ethical

The aim of this project is to study the notion of critique in Foucaults oeuvre. Elaborating on his works, I will scrutinize the formation as well as the trans-formation of this notion throughout his career. I will argue that the key to understand Foucaults conception of critique is to engage with

the notions of continuity and discontinuity in his oeuvre and apply them to it. Following a discussion on his own understanding of this dichotomy, which distinguishes him from thinkers such as George Canguilhem and Gaston Bachelard, I will proceed to propose a schema that accounts for the pluralized nature of critique in his oeuvre.
