SMS BASED WEATHER REPORT INFORMATION SYSTEM

ABSTRACT In the present world, the weather report information is more important in various fields like agriculture, marine, transportation etc. Due to the lack of proper information regarding changes in the weather, the people in these fields are facing many problems. The different techniques used in making weather reports are complex and it is difficult to measure the weather parameters manually. The people in the present world are mostly fascinated towards automatic systems. No one are interested in keep on watching TV for weather news. Even this weather information can be received as an SMS to the user whenever he needs. This also provides solution to various problems mentioned earlier. This SMS based weather report information system can measure different weather parameters like temperature, light, humidity and rainfall in a locality. By this the people can be made aware of the changes in the weather conditions by receiving an SMS. This project consists of mainly two phases i.e., Data monitoring and Data transferring. In the first phase, the Sensors are used to sense and measure weather parameter values and the LCDs are used to display the values of different parameters. In the second phase, the parameters values are sent to a location in the form of an SMS by interfacing a GSM modem to a microcontroller. Through this system, the people can receive correct weather information in a proper time whenever they require.
