Sporting spirit

Keppel Verolmes inaugural soccer tournament kicked off on 7 September 2012, involving six teams and 72 players from various departments. The event drew hearty support from the rest of the company who were down at the competition venue to cheer their colleagues on. After a series of exciting matches, the Pipe Fitter team emerged victorious. For their fair play, they were awarded the Sportsmanship Award. A sumptuous barbeque dinner rounded up the evenings activities for everyone. Separately, nine employees from Keppel Verolme joined the worlds largest cycling squad of 12,000 cyclists in Ride for the Roses 2012 to raise funds for a Dutch charity group, KWF Cancer Society. Participating in the longest-distance category, they cycled across the Westland and Rotterdam region, covering 125 km each. A record of EUR2,100,000 was raised from the charity event.
