Reitz High School Reading Comprehension Improvement Plan to Assess Progress (2011-2012)

LCP: Some students at Reitz struggle with reading comprehension. POP: Some teachers at Reitz may assume that all students can identify main ideas and supporting ideas within informational reading when students cannot. Objective: To improve reading comprehension by using consistent methodology of identifying main idea and supporting details within informational reading. Strategy: Teachers will use a common strategy to teach the identification of main ideas and supporting details in class assignments, lesson plans, and coursework.
