1. What is a project, and what are its main attributes? A project is a unique venture with a beginning and an end, undertaken by people to meet established goals within defined constraints of time, resources, and quality. Besides, it is also a complex assignment involving more than one type of activity and production and different from day-to-day activates primarily because they have focused goals and definite beginning and ending dates. Project is a job that is done at a one time. A project has a unique purpose which is a well-defined objective to create a unique product or services. A project is temporary which means a defined start and end date. Next, a project usually requires resources and it is often from various aspects. For instance, people, hardware, software and other assets. It is a collaboration of work from various areas of the company in order to develop ideas accordingly. Moreover, a project should have primary sponsor or customer as if a program is a group of projects managed in such coordinated way. Then, a project involves uncertainty since they are unique, difficult to define projects objectives clearly, or how much it will cost. These uncertainties are the reasons why project management is so challenging, especially involving new technologies. 2. How is a project different from what most people do in their day-to-day jobs? Projects are different from day-to-day activities because they have clear goals and well-defined beginning and ending dates. In fact, a project can be large or small and involve one person or thousands of people and can also be done in one day or take years to complete whereas as in day-to-day jobs only involve a few people and can be done within a week or month but not take a day or years. 3. What other factors affect a project? The other factors are preparations and planning, organization, leadership, knowledge, teamwork, timeliness, user requirement and involvement, resources and supportive skills.
