Reflection

(New Bilibid Prison)

At first, I was afraid of entering NBP because I thought that it will be scary inside because we will be meeting criminals. Because when we say prison or the term Bilibid itself, depicts a place full of criminals who dont have any hope in themselves but I was wrong. Before entering the bilibid, the police officers are checking our luggage thoroughly for safety measures. When we first entered the bilibid compound there are a lot of men waiting for us carrying umbrellas for our shed for that sunny afternoon, until we reach the place in which we will conduct our interview. When you entered the bilibid you will think that its just a normal community that have schools, church and even basketball courts, you will feel their warm welcome and gladness because there are people like us that spend time just to be with them for a day.

Having a chance to interview the inmates is a nice experience because you get to know how they feel inside and why they are inside the compound. They will tell you that they have repented for all the sins or wrongdoings theyve committed and also sharing their experience with us for our future reference. Some of them also discovered their hidden talents inside the compound and is now using it as a way of living there like the one we interviewed, he discovered that he has a talent in arts and is now using it to earn money as an instructor.
