Here are the most important cables you have to connect to have the cable work. 1 (RJ45) ---> 5 (DB9) 2 (RJ45) ---> 3 (DB9) 3 (RJ45) ---> 2 (DB9) But you can also connect all the cables and the cable will work, here are the connections: 1 (RJ45) ---> 5 (DB9) 2 (RJ45) ---> 3 (DB9) 3 (RJ45) ---> 2 (DB9) 4 (RJ45) ---> 8 (DB9) 5 (RJ45) ---> 7 (DB9) 6+8 (RJ45) ---> 4 (DB9) 7 (RJ45) ---> 6+1 (DB9) Side Note: Make sure you are holding the RJ45 in the right orientation to know the 1st cable. Secondly make sure your connections are firm; test for continuity using a multimeter.
