This class will have a face book-like webpage where you will find: You tube videos Due dates Grades Student-teacher blogs Cool pictures of places and people around the world

Joanne Menchaca

Learning is a fun-frenzy!

elcome to your 8th grade History class! My name is Ms. Menchaca but I dont mind being called Ms. M. I look forward to starting this year and working with you bright students towards your 8th grade graduation. I have many things planned for you guys and I am so excited to meet you all, personally. Until then, let me tell you about myself. Like many of you, I have grown up in California most of my life. I went to school in Oceanside and then moved to Temecula, where I have lived since. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies, a Teaching Credential in the multiple- subject area, and a minor in History from California State University, San MarcosGo Cougars! My goal for you, soon to be high schoolers, is that you find interesting connections from the past and apply them to whats going on in our world today. I know most of you consider History as a boring topic but I will try my absolute hardest to make History seem not so ancient. Remember that I am here for you guys and I am not a genius. Therefore, we need to work together and help each other out to re-discover the facts of the past.

Fun Facts!

bet you didnt know these facts! Dont worry, well talk about these more when we get into class. DID YOU KNOW? To take an oath, ancient Romans put a hand on their private parts instead of their chest. In medieval Italy, if a man was caught kissing a woman in public, he had to marry her whether they wanted to or not In Ancient Egypt, priests plucked EVERY hair from their bodies, including their eyebrows and eyelashes

We love technology!

want to make this class as easy and fun for you as possible. Since I know you 8th graders love to be on the computer and text
