Comp 101-104 1 February 2013 Story Summary Shooting an Elephant This story is about a man who works as a police officer in Burma. He is not liked very well by the people and he does not like his job. He felt the British Empire was evil and he had to see a lot of harsh things that they done. He was summoned to take care of an elephant that had gotten loose from its owner and was ravaging the town. He didnt really want to shoot the elephant, but was afraid of how he would look to the Burman people if he didnt. They were excited about the elephant shooting and were following him to watch. He shot the elephant several times before it died.
