HP Non Mirror Broot Disk Replacement

I. Work activity to be performed Before the Hardware replacement
1. Nothing. (If it is a broot, hot-swappable drive then nothing needs to be done)

II.

Work to be performed
FE replaces disk c6t0d0 (THIS SCENARIO WILL USE EXAMPLE DISK C6T0D0)

III.

Work activity to be performed After the Hardware replacement

1. Verify the new disk is good and seen by the O/S # diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c6t0d0 and/or # ioscan fnC disk (view the output and it should show claimed) 2. Deactivate the disk volume group # vgchange a n vgbroot 3. Restore the logical volume management configuration data to the new disk # vgcfgrestore n vgbroot /dev/rdsk/c6t0d0 4. Re-Activate the disk volume group # vgchange a y vgbroot 5. Run the broot script to copy vg00 to the new broot disk # nohup /bto/sys/csa/bin/update_broot b r vg00 & 6. Tail the nohup.out file until the script completes successfully.
