MURDER victim Glenys Heyward kept
a personal diary in which she wrote: “Do
you know what it is like to have your own
flesh and blood tell you that they are going
to kill you?”
The diary extract was part of prosecutor
Mark Norman’s submission to the Adelaide
Magistrate’s Court yesterday during a
committal hearing regarding the murder
of Glenys Heyward.
Ms Heyward’s sons Thomas, 26, and
Matthew, 21, her defacto partner Neil
Heyward and their former farmhand
Jeremy Minter are charged with her
murder.
Lawyers acting for Thomas and Matthew
argued in front of Chief Magistrate
Elizabeth Bolton that their clients had
no case to answer.
In separate lengthy submissions they
claimed much of the prosecution’s evi-
dence was based on suspicion and was
circumstantial.
