CHATETEURIZATION 1. Definition Chatheteur is a tube that use to put into or put out the liquid.

Bladder is a pocket to retain a number urine that change particularly, it flows by a couple of ureter from a couple of kidney. Chateteurization is a procedures of inclusion of a chateteur through the urethra into the baldder to remove urine. We usually use it to the patient that cant urinate by herself / himself. In midwifery we do catheteurization in : preparation of SC, retensio urine in delivery and post partum. There are many kind of chateteur : Nelaton chateteur Metal chateteur Woven silk Silikon

After the procedure, we have to observe the patients condition and the chateteur condition. 2. Advantages To eclipse distencion of bladder immediately To collect urine speciment To count urine residu after urinate To deflate the bladder before and during the surgical procedures To help patient urinate

3. Disadvantages If the procedure is not steril, it will increase the risk of infection. Maybe the pastient will fell uncomfort with this condition

PROCEDURE OF CATHETEURIZATION

1. Patients Preparation a) Communicate the procedure to the patient ( the goal and the step ) b) Ask the patient and family to coorporate with us c) Manage the patients position

2. Tools Preparation a) Chatheteur set b) Underlayer c) Nier Bekken d) Pincers e) Hand gloves f) Urinal Bag g) Xylicain jelly h) Sublimat Liquid i) Cotton j) Aguabides k) Syringe 10 cc l) Urinal bag hanger

3. Procedures a) Close the curtain and the door for the patients privacy b) Wash our hand effectively c) Put the underlayer under the patient, put nier bekken near the patients hip d) Open the instrument scuttle, Use your handsgloves, put steryle doek e) Clean up the genitalia area f) Put the cotton in nier bekken g) Take off the handsgloves h) Place the chateter set between patients kneel i) Open the chateter set j) Use your handscoon

k) Check the balloon condition by 10 cc syrnge. Take off the needle, fill in the syringe with the air, place tube syringe in the edge of catheteur tube, then pull in the plunger to fill the ballon with the air. l) After we sure that the ballon is good. Place the equipment near the patient. m) Open the meatus area For women For man : Open with index finger and left thumbnail then pull up slightly : Hold the area inder glans penis with thumbnail and index finger.

n) Grease the tip of the chateter with jelly o) Put the chateter in : For women 5 up to 7 centimetres For men 18 up to 20 centimetres p) Tell to the patient to take a breath and relax during the procedures q) If while you put the chateteur in, there is an obstruction, dont continue the procedures. r) Fill up the chateteur balloon with 5-10 cc aquabides, use the srynge. s) Pull the chateter slowly till you feel that there is an obstruction. t) Take off the steryle doek. Then connect the chatheteur with the urinal bag, then hang up the urinal bag lower than bladder position. u) Let the patient in comfortable position v) Tidy up your tools then take off your handsgloves. w) For the end, wash your hand effectively. x) Make a record of your procedures. y) Dont forget to observe the patient. z) Tell the family to put out the urine to the toilet if the urinal bag is full.
