PREDECESSORS
1G :-> The 1st Generation began in the early of 80s with commercial deployment of Advance Mobile Phone System (AMPS) cellular networks. 2G :-> The 2nd Generation emerged in 90s when mobile operators deployed two digital voice standards. 2.5G :-> This is the generation of wireless technology which act as bridge between 2G and 3G . The GPRS combined with cellular services is termed as 2.5G.

DATA RATE
It
is the most important feature of 3G the Data Rate of 3G is the transfer rate for 3G networks is normally 460 kbps for device that are moving fast and 2 Mbps for slow ones. For fixed wireless LANs the speed goes beyond 2 Mbps .

SECURITY
Another important feature of 3G is increased security. network offer a greater degree of security than 1G & 2G by allowing the UE to authenticate the network it is attaching to , the user can be sure that the network is intended and not an impersonator.

BENEFITS OF 3G(Advantages)
Higher
call volumes and support for multimedia data data transfer rates
or cheap calls worldwide to determine geographic position of mobiles and for users that need connectivity on the move

Capability
report it
Worthwhile
spectrum licensing fees for the 3G services capital required to build infrastructure for 3G services. impact because of electromagnetic waves. are very high for 3G mobile services.
Takes
3/13/13
3G eases the machine to machine communication in the near future For Example: Refrigerator with in-built sensors, sensing the emptied shelves and sending means automatically to the PDA of the user or the local store to refill it.

CONCLUSION
3G
services will add invaluable dimension for the integral part of the modern world the near future , Mobility will not be considered as an addon: it will become a fundamental aspect of 3G networks will continue and pick up pace in the near future
