8, 2013 Members of Promotion and Tenure Committee: I write this letter in my role as Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness whose office is responsible for the administration of student evaluation of faculty. Please accept the follow explanation as an exception to Dr. Shelia Martin not including certain student evaluations in her application. Courses that are evaluated by students must meet specific criteria. Those courses that are NOT evaluated include: those with less than 6 students, labs (with the exception of School of Nursing and Allied Health labs), internships, independent studies, student research, and student teaching. As a result, a faculty member will not have a course evaluation if the course met any of the criteria listed above. Please let me know if you have any questions. Sincerely,
