A service layer interface will be designed for the extraction of stream data from a camera sensor in resource constraint sensor nodes. The interface will enable block based processing and seamless transmission of image/video data over wireless sensor networks. The proposed layer will be realized on TinyOS operating system for the integration of the sensor as a middleware to send image/video data from CMU camera to the Tmote Sky WSN Node. WSN node and CMU camera will communicate via a direct serial connection using UART ports. Additionally, a buffering mechanism will be designed to achieve lossless data extraction from the sensor in real time. Finally, these image/video data will be transferred to another WSN device over a multi hop network connection.
