Academic Projects: 1) B.E Project Title: Power Over Ethernet Organization: Bangalore Electronics & Radar Development Establishment, DRDO,

Knowledge of Aerospace standards such as Do178b,RTRT,Cantata .

Brief Description:

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology for wired Ethernet LAN that allows the electrical current, necessary for the operation of each device, to be carried by the data cables rather than by power cords. This minimizes the number of wires that must be strung in order to install the network. The result is lower cost, less downtime, easier maintenance, and greater installation flexibility than with traditional wiring. For PoE to work, the electrical current must go into the data cable at the power-supply end, and come out at the device end, in such a way that the current is kept separate from the data signal so that neither interferes with the other. The current enters the cable by means of a component called an injector. If the device at the other end of the cable is PoE compatible, then that device will function properly without modification. If the device is not PoE compatible, then a component called a picker or tap must be installed to remove the current from the cable. This "picked-off" current is routed to the power jack. Role involved: SOCKET PROGRAMMING

This Project involved socket programming in C/C++ basically to establish a wired connection between Client and Server pc.Our role was to program the client and server model so that there can be a transfer of data between the two within the defined packet using a simple Ethernet cable.
2) Diploma Project Title: Development of an 8051 Microcontroller Board. Organization: Caravel Info Systems, Bangalore Brief Description:

The objective of the project is to develop an 8051 Microcontroller board for programming, testing and verification of various applications.
Role involved: MICROCONTROLLER BASED DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM The novel idea was to capture data from outside world using a 4*4 keyboard interfaced with a microcontroller, display the acquired data in a LCD display and stored the data. It can be connected to a PC so storing values and monitoring is much easier. Our role in the project was to design an 8051 based microcontroller board interfacing the 4*4 keyboard, LCD and few other peripherals. After the completion of the design program the microcontroller accordingly to perform the specific task. 3) Mini Project 2 Title: Digital Heart Beat Counter Brief Description: This is a simple digital heart beat counter implemented without any microcontroller or microprocessor. It consists of a threshold detector circuitry to extract the R-wave of an ECG and decade counter ICs that count these pulses for a certain period of time and display the count on 7-segment displays.
