STATEMENT from the City of Cherry Hills Village, Colorado on Pending Litigation

March 18, 2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The City of Cherry Hills Village intends to defend vigorously against allegations made in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court by two former employees and a former prosecuting attorney of the City. The City is aware of the claims asserted in this employment lawsuit through discussions held among the parties over the past several months. The City categorically refutes both the allegations and any liability associated with these employment matters. In accordance with City practice, it would be inappropriate for the City to comment on matters that are necessarily to be heard in Court, to ensure that all parties are accorded their rights under the law. Cherry Hills Village citizens should be confident in the professionalism and excellent standards of service provided by its Police Department and all city employees. The City is fully covered for the employment claims made by former employees under the City's insurance coverage with the Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency. No further comments regarding this issue will be made at this time. Media requests are being directed to the City's contract PIO, Mr. Peter Webb, who can be reached at 303.796.8888. Other than the PIO, no City official or employee is authorized to make any statement on behalf of the City.
