Dear Sir or Madam: I would like to recommend Michael Silvers for a position at your school. As the inclusionary teacher for fourth grade, I worked closely with him during the 2010/2011 school year. We taught together using various models such as parallel and station teaching. Mr. Silvers provided me with many new ideas for presenting material that would benefit all the students, especially those with an IEP. Math is the subject area for which I sought the most help, and for which Mr. Silvers possesses much expertise. He taught the students many mnemonic devices which were extremely successful. He also taught the weekly Words Their Way sorts to all the students every Monday and co-taught reading groups several times a week. Mr. Silvers is dedicated to his students and every one of them felt that he supported and cared for them. All the students looked forward to his teaching and they were consistently engaged. He continually assessed his students and made the necessary changes in his lesson plans and IEPs. Both the students and I very much enjoyed working with Mr. Silvers.
