CCSD Human Resources Department: I am excited to be applying for a position in your Social Studies department in the Clark County School District. I have been looking forward to stepping into the classroom and starting my career in helping young people by making a positive difference in their lives. Before a student can find success in the classroom, they have to prepare to be successful in life, and I would like to be the teacher who can bring out those qualities in my students. My degree as a secondary education major from Nevada State College has helped prepare me to enter the classroom with tools that I need to help my students succeed. In addition to my education, my experience in the business world and athletics will help me to educate students for their lives outside the classroom as well. I look forward to being a coach, as well as a teacher, and I have the ability and experience to make my athletes successful too. During my schooling, I have learned many different strategies to help my students learn, but I believe that it is my personality that will allow me to most effectively connect with my students. Although I will be a first year teacher in the classroom, I have other experiences that have prepared me to make an impact in the classroom. I have three years experience as a baseball, basketball and football coach at the high school level. My leadership experience in the restaurant business will also be an asset as I need those leadership qualities in the classroom. I also have additional education in Computer Science and Art that can help me diversify my teaching and be a more flexible teacher for the school. The last quality that makes me an asset to any school would be my ability to get along and work well with others. I have a positive attitude, and I like to keep a light, positive mood in my classroom. Lastly, I would like to thank you for taking the time to look over my resume.
