FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 2013 Rosalynn Carter Institute Caregiver of the Year Award Nominations Sought
The Southern Georgia Regional Commissions Area Agency on Aging and the Rosalynn Carter Institute are accepting nominations for the 2013 Caregiver of the Year Awards. Regional awards will be given in each of the following categories: (1) Volunteer Caregiver of the Year, (2) Family Caregiver of the Year, and (3) ParaProfessional Caregiver of the Year. Nominations will be taken for these awards for those demonstrating direct service care, compassion and resourcefulness in providing long term home or community based care. To be eligible for the award, a caregiver must be currently providing care, or must have provided care within the past year. A nomination form is available by calling Scott Courson at the Southern Georgia Regional Commissions Area Agency on Aging toll free at 1-888-73-AGING / 1-888-732-4464 or email tscourson@sgrc.us to request a nomination form. Regional Award Winners will be recognized at the Rosalynn Carter Awards Gala in Americus, GA in October of this year. From the pool of regional winners, a State Caregiver of the Year Award winner will be selected in each of the three categories. Deadline for nominations is July 1, 2013.
