Name: Gesture Unit Work Sheet: Visual Arts 20 I would like you to think back to the beginning of this

unit. From the beginning to now, we have covered seven different ways of looking at gestures. The topics covered in this unit were; gesture charades, clay gestures, drawing gestures from observation, placing a gesture into a setting, learning about Allen Sapps painting techniques, Aboriginal Story telling, and the final project, a nostalgic painting. Based on these topics coved in class, I want you to answer the following question as detailed as possible. 1. What did you find the most challenging about gesture drawing and why?

2. Which gesture project/projects helped the most to strengthening your skills in gesture drawing and why?

3. Based on the entire unit, how would you describe the relationship between each topic? How well did the projects flow together?

4. Allen Sapp paints memories of his past, how did his paintings influence you when choosing your photo?

5. Was Allen Sapp successful by making his viewers feel a sense of nostalgia? Did Allen Sapps paintings bring any nostalgia to you while looking at his work? Explain.

6. Out of all seven topics covered in class, which topic/topics helped prepare you for the final project? And why?
