My name is Ashley Suarez. I would like to start by saying what an honor it is to be able to work with you as my cooperating teacher for the next few months. Before I have the chance to come to your classroom, I would like to formally introduce myself to you. I am currently a junior at Rider University, dual majoring in Elementary Education and Psychology with a minor in Special Education. I have had some field experience in a second grade classroom at Stuart Country Day School in Hamilton, New Jersey. Aside from gaining experience in the field during my time here at Rider, I have also volunteered forty hours this past summer at Camp Sunshine in Ridgewood, New Jersey. This camp consists of a seven-hour activity schedule, including arts and crafts, lunch, outdoor activities, and swimming for students of all ages with disabilities. Camp Sunshine increased my passion for helping those in need as well as providing me with a rewarding experience that I can share with others for the rest of my life. Finally, I would like to truly thank you for helping me and allowing me to broaden my educational experience as both a person and a teacher.
