An act to provide legal recognition for transactions carried out by means of electronic data interchange and other means of electronic communication, commonly referred to as e-commerce

Objectives
To facilitate electronic filing of documents

Providing legal recognition to electronic transactions and use of alternatives to paper-based methods of communications and storage etc. Regulation and control of Cyber Crime and other offences.

Cyber crime

Any criminal activity that uses a computer either as an instrumentally, target or a means for further crimes comes within cyber crime Reasons for increase are easy to access, negligence and loss of evidence.

Digital Signature
Any subscriber may authenticate an electronic record by affixing his digital signature Authentication of electronic record shall be effected by the use of asymmetric crypto system Hash function which transform the initial record into another electronic record

Where any law provides that information or any other matter shall be in writing or type written or printed forms Information is available in an electronic form Accessible so as to be usable for subsequent reference

Use of e-records & digital signature in Govt & its agencies

The filling of any form ,application or any other document with any office, authority, agency owned or controlled by appropriate govt. in a particular manner. Grant of any licence, permit, sanction or approval. The receipt or payment in a particular manner

Publication rules & regulations

Where any law provides any rule, regulation, order, notification or any other matter shell be publish in the official Gazette.

Cyber crime Evolution

Conclusion

Judicial system and entire mechanism needs to deliver justice at quick speed. Punishment must be strict enough to kill the motive of the criminals. Ethical Hacking must be utilised to understand the techniques of the criminals.
