Alternator D-End Side Bearing Failure Report of Engine # 3

Engine No: 3 Engine model: KVGS18G4 Engine Serial No: 10315 Present Engine RH: 61556 New Alternator Replaced RH: 57095 Bearing RH: 4461 Dear Sir,

Alternator Type: LSA56BVL80/6P Serial No: 604636/2 I/P: 23

For your kind information on dated 18th March, 2013 our Engine-3 alternator (brand Leroy Somer) tripped for Drive End side bearing temperature high, after that we inspected the drive end side bearing and found that bearing cover plate front side rubbing with shaft and sealing area found damage. In this report some images of bearing have been attached. One of the tag marked image there was no grease in the bearing. We found a little bit of grease which was given by us.

N: B: We already periodically greased (on 1st March, 2013 that time Engine RH 61162) as LS alternator
manufacturer name plate marked guide line.

There was no grease found inside the bearing.

Bearing shoulders broken and came out Bearing rear side cover also rubbing with shaft and shaft area found rubbing mark.
