Detailed Description of Work Performed and/or Observed: 11A representative of Advantage Engineers, LLC (Advantage) was on site to monitor construction activities at the above referenced project site. CONSTRUCTION OBSERVATION Upon arrival, Advantage found that the subgrade for the proposed Lodge building had been previously prepared. The contractor proofrolled the subgrade using a single drum vibratory roller having a static weight of approximately 15 tons. The proofroll revealed a large area of the subgrade to contain saturated, weak and yielding soils. The contractor scarified this area and indicated that it would be Advantage indicated that this area would allowed to dry prior to re-compaction.

need to be re-compacted and re-proofrolled prior to any backfill being placed in this area. This area is shown on the sketch below. The proofroll also revealed that a portion of the building pad was firm and stable and suitable for fill placement. The area was backfilled using on-site fill material consisting of brown silt and fine to medium sand, trace fine to medium gravel. The backfill was placed in approximately 10-inch loose lifts. Each lift was compacted using a smooth drum vibratory roller with a static weight of approximately 15 tons.

Additionally, a nuclear moisture density gauge was used to monitor the lifts. The material was found to have been compacted to a minimum of 95% of the laboratory determined dry density for the fill. A summary of the test results are provided in the table that follows for review.
