Samples of exam problems 1.

An argentometric titration of a water-soluble powder was performed employing adsorption indication with the following results: VAgNO3 = 20.10 mL and MAgNO3 = 0.05019 M. Find a. Mass in grams of NaCl.

b. Mass in grams of chloride (MW Cl- = 35.453).

c. % NaCl if water-soluble powder mass was 0.3438 g.

d. % Cl- if water-soluble powder mass was 0.3438 g.

2. A sample mass of 0.2654 g was placed in 100mL of water. Through an argentometric titration this soluble powder was found to contain 3.948 % chloride. Predict the volume (in mL) of 0.2 M AgNO3 that would be required to precipitate the chloride in the soluble powder.
