Milk was sacred to Isis and a recipe for the sacred "Milk of Isis" still Survives.

This pink tinted, sweetened milk represented the healing, nourishing milk provided by Isis for her son Horus and the pharaohs as her divine sons. Milk was sacred to Isian processions in a situla (a breast-shaped pail), which allowed a stream of liquid to spill onto the earth as a consecrated and consecrating offering. Milk of Isis

qt. milk 4 cups 6- Tbsp. almond syrup Several lg. Strawberries (or a red fruit juice)

Almond Syrup: cup sugar cup water Tbsp. almond extract

Prepare the almond syrup by dissolving the sugar into the water. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, until the syrup begins to thicken. Add the almond extract and stir. Let the syrup cool. This may also be made with vanilla extract. Substitute 1 Tbsp. of vanilla extract for the 2 Tbsp. of almond extract. Add the syrup to the milk and stir well. Squeeze several lg. strawberries into the milk for a light pink color, or use other red fruit juice. Serve chilled.
